🌻September in the Vegie Patch, Fruit Tree To-do's, Weed Smarter + Prune Tamarillos 🌻
Spring is sprung, friends! The days and nights are warming, and sure as eggs - a few beats behind, the soil will start to warm too.
In all the excitement, its easy to rush headlong into summer crops. Stay steady! Save your pennies and bide your time - crops wont thrive if soil is too cold for them. Align all your crop choices with their preferred soil warmth, for the win!
This month I kick off a new series - Weed Smarter, Not Harder. Weeds are our allies (mostly 😉). Working with them is way more fun, and brings better results by far. I wonder where your weeds sit on my weedy-scale? Till next month,
Yours in the earth,
❤️

How to Prune Tamarillos
I’m a fan of a sturdy Tam, with a low centre of gravity. Without pruning they are floppy, breaky trees, and the fruits get further away from the trunk, becoming ever smaller each year.
